Another Tool to Help You Select a Homecare Provider

The federal government has implemented something like a report card that compares one home health agency's performance with others. Known as Home Health Compare, this rating system will assess patients' conditions at the start of homecare and at the end of homecare to gauge the success of the homecare agencies in improving or maintaining patients' ability to live independently. These measures will then be compared with a state and national average. This information is only available for those homecare agencies that are Medicare-certified. A similar report card exists for nursing homes as well.
